Mr. Sonny Kakar is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sevatec, Inc. His primary focus is on leading the strategic growth and direction of the firm, while ensuring the highest customer and employee satisfaction. Mr. Kakar, along with his team of experts that share a common drive for excellence, work closely with federal government clients and industry partners to deliver on Sevatec’s promise of quality, innovation, performance and high value solutions.

Prior to Sevatec, Mr. Kakar was Vice President of Information Assurance/Information Technology (IA/IT) Operations for Karta Technologies, Inc. He expanded Karta's presence to the Washington D.C. market and grew the organization to over 50 professionals locally in less than three years. Mr. Kakar launched a new high profile information assurance (IA) division for Karta, based out of Washington D.C. and built a core team of IA experts, marketing and client relationship managers, implementation specialists, sales representatives and strategic partners from the ground up. He also led the development of online web-based cyber security training programs tailored to roles and responsibilities in the federal government. Under Mr. Kakar's leadership, this program, at that time, was recognized as the only web-based IA training program certified by the National Security Agency and Committee for National Security Systems (NSA/CNSS).

Mr. Kakar earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a nationally selected attendee of the U.S. Air Force Air University National Security Forum for recognized community leaders. Mr. Kakar is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF), Sikh Research Institute, and the Sikh Coalition. Mr. Kakar's civic activities concentrate on being a responsible and active member of Community and faith-based organizations with his personal focus on increasing awareness and improving human rights for diverse religious and ethnic groups through community-based education and awareness programs.
