Position Description: On a day to day basis the Load Testing Specialist will execute performance testing; measure performance of applications; set up tests and monitor to measure transaction performance time, and interpret results. This individual will develop LoadRunner scripts and execute performance tests (load, stress) and analyze the resulting data. This individual will also train and mentor other testers.

To be qualified for this position, this individual will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 2-4 years of experience in a Performance tester role as well as performance engineering experience. He or she must have tested in J2EE and Web 2.0 environments. He or she also must have knowledge of networks, network architecture (firewall, internet, content switches), web applications, http servers/app servers, J2EE, XML, and WSDL. This candidate must have experience utilizing Mercury’s integrated suite of network, application server, web server and database servers to monitor live environment during script (scenario) executions. Experience with LoadRunner is a must.

The Load Testing Specialist (LTS) will spend most of their time collaborating with Developers, Analyst, Business Users, and QA Testers to develop automated test scenarios. Requirements for the position are listed below:

• Experience using Mercury LoadRunner to script applications in enterprise environment
• Experience using C or C++ programming to customize scripts
• Experience installing, configuring LoadRunner and setting up controller
• Prior experience setting up and configuring IP spoofing
• Understanding and knowledge of load balancing
• Create, debug, customize, and execute scripts
• Analyze results and create load test summary reports describing tests executed and recommendations

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

• 2–4 years of relevant work experience performing load testing
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams
• Outstanding analytical skills
• Ability to analyze complex situations, learn quickly, and synthesize corresponding solutions, options and action plans
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), mediation (conflict resolution) and facilitation skills
• Ability to communicate complex ideas in clear, succinct terms
• Ability to establish strong partnerships at various levels in the organization
• Knowledge of SDLC
• Self starter; demonstrates personal initiative and willingly assumes responsibility and ownership
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
• Must show enthusiasm, initiative, pride in work

Minimum Skills Required:

Knowledgeable and has an understanding of the following:

• C or C++ programming
• SQL query development
• Prior experience conducting load testing (scripting, debugging, scenario setup, executing, etc)
• Experience in installing and configuring LoadRunner monitors
