Position Title: Project Manager - Learning Management Systems
Position Description: Project Manager will have the overall responsibility for the success of the project by ensuring the implementation is on-time and on budget. In addition, the Project Manager must be knowledgeable of all aspects of the implementation life-cycle. The Project Manager will work closely with the client team and serve as the intermediary between the client implementing e-learning solutions and services, and the vendors providing them. The Project Manager may be responsible for several clients at any given time and thus must possess the ability to diagnose, communicate, and resolve complex business and technology challenges while managing competing priorities without any negative impact to clients.
Essential Functions of Position:
- Manage implementations throughout the entire lifecycle of the e-learning solution.
- Provide direction on project management methodology, terms and concepts, including project plan development, project plan execution, integrated change control, project integration management, perform EVM reporting and associated WBS, maintain responsibility matrix, communication and Risk Management plan, roles and responsibilities, general and management reporting, project scope and change management, scope planning-developing a written scope statement as the basis for future project decisions, scope definition-subdividing the major project deliverables into smaller, more manageable components, scope verification-formalizing acceptance of the project scope, manage requirements and scope creep.
- Support services in project communications management, including communications planning, information distribution, performance reporting, and administrative closure.
- Project time management, including, activity definition, activity sequencing, activity duration estimating, schedule development, schedule control.
- Project cost management; including resource planning, cost estimating, cost budgeting, cost control-controlling changes to the project budget. Includes helping implement EVMS tracking per program office requirements when implemented.
- Support and consulting on project quality management, including quality planning, quality assurance, quality control.
- Support and facilitate Project Procurement Management, including some aspects of SOW development, contract administration, verification of deliverables.
- Manage on-time and on budget implementation of e-learning systems. Related products include computer/web based courseware, collaboration tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS), Competency Management Systems (CMS), Performance Management Systems (PMS), and other service related efforts to support customer activity.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelors in computer science or related field.
Minimum Experience Required- Position requires specific e-learning experience including learning strategies, computer/web based courseware, collaboration tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS), Competency Management Systems (CMS), Performance Management Systems (PMS), and other service related efforts to support IT enterprise system implementations and integrations.
- Project Managers must have expert knowledge and application of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
Desired Experience Required: Project Managers may be a mix of certified Project Management Professionals PMPs) and senior project managers that have experience deploying enterprise e-learning / IT solutions.
