Sevatec Joint Venture With Service-Disabled Veteran Small Business Wins GSA Vets Approval

Sevatec, Inc. announced today that it has created a joint venture with TC Associates, an 8(a) service-disabled veteran small business, to form TSeva Group, LLC. The company also announced that the TSeva Group venture was awarded a contract on the highly coveted GSA - Veterans Technology for Services (VETS) Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) vehicle.

As one of the VETS contract award winners, TSeva Group will be one of only 43 service-disabled, veteran-owned firms who are now eligible to compete for federal government set-aside contracts designated to service-disabled veteran owned organizations with an overall potential value of $5 billion. The award is for "cutting edge technology solutions" that include security, information systems, engineering, systems operations and maintenance.

"As joint venture partners, we look forward to providing consulting and technical services that will help Federal Government customers of General Services Administration (GSA) streamline their operations and operate more effectively—all at a lower cost," said Sonny Kakar, President and CEO of Sevatec and Vice Chairman of the newly-formed TSeva Group. "The paramount core value of Sevatec is a commitment to service. We are pleased to have an opportunity to form a joint venture partnership with TC Associates, who shares those core values."

VETS is a GWAC that is set-aside for service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses. The VETS program was established as a direct result of President Bush's Executive Order 13360 to strengthen opportunities in federal contracting for service-disabled, veteran-owned small business concerns. The Veterans Entrepreneurship Act and Small Business Development Act of 1999 established an annual government-wide goal of not less than 3 percent of the value of prime contract and subcontract awards for participation by small business concerns, such as TSeva Group, which are owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans.
